I dated a girl in grad school/college (1995-6ish) - her name was Barb.

She had some financial problems while we were dating and I, being a fairly nice guy, helped out.

I paid for part of her college tuition, books, rent, car loan and a few other odds and ends. She borrowed a total of $1400.63.

She swore she'd pay me back someday, "with interest," and even kept a record of the amount she borrowed.

Then, after less than year of dating, we broke up. (It was semi-amicable, in as much as a breakup can be. We remain in contact with each other and pretty much remain friends, except over this one point, of course).

Over the next couple years she paid back small portions and even printed her own payment coupons.

Then, in 2001, she decided to stop paying.
